  • These Eyes For You International Release 04/05/08 12:21pm

Mark Holman of Holworks releases new single - "These Eyes For You" - ASCAP 2008 Title Code: 504726238 - Los Angeles, CA –Mark Holman of Holworks has announced the release of the single “These Eyes for You” from the new album “Carolina Commons.”

The musical focus is on harmony, melody and strong lyrics. Holworks’ goal is to convey real emotion in a genuine way. “These Eyes for You” lets listeners in on the kind of melodic, emotive songwriting Mark Holman crafts. The song explores the first meeting of two people, a brief segment of time in which the future will be determined – will these two go forward together, or separate? Will companionship or aloneness follow this encounter?

These Eyes For You is about the direct contact between two people and the endless possibilities that unfold from that fleeting first connection. The song finds its origins in a poem composed by Mark Holman of Holworks in 1991. It’s a personal creation inspired by “the only woman who ever made my head turn until it hurt.” The song was a catharsis and closure for Holman.

The poem first manifested as song while Holman played in the band Swift Water. It now finds its new form as the lead single from “Carolina Commons.” Says Holman, “ ‘These Eyes for You’ is a poignant reminder of just how powerful chemistry can be in just one instant. Love at first sight?” He also explains that the song is an attempt to bring music back to roots in intelligent songwriting. “The song is a tribute to how music was and shall be made again as skill, composition and arrangement enables a band to develop songs that are timeless.”

Holworks, brain child of Holman, began making music in October of 2007. His goal is grounded in the idea of making the listener forget everything else but the music through the power of rock, blues and his "Harbor Horn" voice – total listener absorption is the concept.

“It is more than enough for me just to have you listen as it will be a unique experience,” Holman says. “I will catch you off guard.”

The songwriting process for the new album is complete; recording will be completed this year with the CD’s release to follow soon after. Holworks founded Holworks Publishing Company and has listed its music with ASCAP. Holworks finished in the number 26 slot in week 8 of the Spin Hot Pursuit Contest and hit number eight in the Spin Rock Pile Contest.

Mark Holman is currently scouting for a record company and has licensed his music for radio, TV, Internet and other media.

“My songs will make you think, feel, sing or just sound good.” Mark Holman is working with A&R Select, the world’s leading independent artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA. More information is available by visiting www.holworks.com
